As I watched mrs aquarat strolling up the towpath I says, "Nought as sexy as watching you walk up the towpath shitter in hand"
"And it's empty" she replies
Damn it I nearly came in my pants!
My how we chuckled :-)

Me too mate.
The single most best thing I did was get rid of the evil contraption that is the thetford shit box.

The next job to do is the holding tank for when we can't feed the fish 👍 Provision is there for it - at great expense too!

When I put the Lavac sea toilet in my barge a couple of years ago I just put a 100 litre holding tank in (about £100) and a length of 40mm convoluted wet exhaust hose to connect to the bog pump. And a 1 metre length of 38mm stainless tube to connect to a roof fitting. Vent is transparent flexible hose with speedfit 15mm on the end sikaflexed through cabin top. I suppose you would need a diverter valve as well. Mine is a cheap polyprop tank and yes the smell does leach through a bit after a while so worth factoring in replacement or different tank material.

I've put the crazy expensive jabsco diverter in already. Just need to pull me finger out and sort the tank out, I've got the pump out and breather skin fittings, just short of some posh butyl hose and a few hose clips. We will be on for coming in at Boston in the future so it has to be done really. I can't ever see (thankfully!) the Bedford-MK Link being completed in my lifetime so the GU & Thames is no incentive

Bedford-MK is a nice idea but seems unlikely. I had a little wander round the MK end by car and pretended to be a civil engineer a few years ago. It looks far too complicated and expensive !

This is a good fun way to see the top bit of the river. www.johnbunyanboat.org/Can't see them ever getting enough dosh together - especially with the Brogborough hump to contend with. Still, they have plenty of enthusiastic volunteers, they are successful in running the boat and they put Northampton and Peterborough to shame for not having a decent trip boat any longer.

I had years of the Thunderbox, the prospect of another girl joining in the see who can fill it the fastest competition was enough to convince me it was time to sort the heads out
