Does anyone know if there are any floating brothels about?
I'm talking about classy ones not interested in exploitation at all and I am not a potential client but I have wondered about it for a long time. With the right arrangements in place and a decent boat it could possibly be a viable business opportunity.
Would one need a trading license and special insurance? If you are inviting people to come on or in your boat this can be quite costly.
Is it worth it?

There is no requirement in the relevant CRT legislation to have a trading licence.

It is an interesting idea and something that had crossed my mind before.. Obviously it would have to be a 'massage parlour' or 'sauna' not a brothel to avoid the attention of the authorities. What type of boat were you thinking? If based on a narrowboat, you are only really going to be able to fit two bedrooms. I would think that the most a girl is going to be willing to pay for the room is £40/50 per hour. 4 or 5 clients per day per room is only going to bring you in about 400 a day. You will need a telephone answerer and some security. I suppose you could do these yourself but it would be a full time job with long hours. I think you really need something that can fit at least 6 or 7 rooms to make it viable. A brothel with a choice of only 2 girls wouldn't bring in many punters.

Cannot believe Im adding to this thread... A select clientele ..two experienced 'masseurs' would perhaps work.. In olden days men would visit a brothel and would have their favourite lady of the night to spend time with.. however i reckon its an idea fraught with problems....its a bit obvious it moored up in busy area and if moored isolated who would come? I'd shelve that plan...

I'd shelve that plan... It would be a big boat which would be literally "continuously cruising" ie 24hrs a day and clients would be able to locate the boat with their smart phone. Like Uber.

You could always use the 'balcany' and charge passing voyeurs voyaging past.

Guess that might have appeal..certainly novel...but the police would only have to walk fast to catch up...

That dailystar article must have given her a huge boost in clients, a free and well written publicity, with several photos would have cost a fortune if she'd done it herself.
Now it was all free ? or maybe paid by practising her magic to the journalist.
I like to looks of her (lovely painted boat)
Peter.
