I'm sure it's only a matter of time before you'll be able to send micro drones down a chimney and provide a little present! The battery technology is the main limitation. Anyway I've been told off for spreading paranoia so best shut up.

Bassplayer.
Yes. MI6 have been working with me on the design of a canal-boat-penetrating flue drone. Its still in prototyping.
Primarily for military purposes but it may become available on ebay at some stage for would-be father christmases.

Twas a McMillan .50 BMG bolt action rifle, accuracy is measured in minutes of angle, this weapon is 1/2 MOA, which is equivalent at that range to a 49 " group, in theory, in perfect conditions that never exist in the field, so definitely some element of luck involved. Unlucky for the enemy though. How sad never mind.

Previous record holder was a British sniper, on r4 this morning. IMMSMR, things to be accounted for were Temperature Distance Humidity Barometric pressure Curvature of the earth (relevant over 1000 yds) And drift caused by the spin of the bullet. So yes, lots of luck. The guy said he just wanted the enemy to keep their heads down, covering British troops. Sadly when the news of his world record hit the papers he and his family had to go undercover, ended up on an al quaeda hit list.
