We have a 12v fridge which we only put on whilst driving. Milk keeps a day in the 'scratch' (as Witchy calls the cratch), and long-life milk is fine. TV - don't miss it. Radio is a new medium for us, and listening to the Asian Network brings a touch of the exotic East(Burnley, haha!). Midsommer Murders used to be OK until Barnaby's little-teeth Waitrose-wife turned up spreading her smugness. Douwe Egberts + boiling water in a cup = coffee, no machine needed; we also have Nescafé cappuccino. Hot water bottles work fine in winter in bed, boat isn't cold inside anyway with Climate-Change coal smoke pouring out tha' chimbley. Oven grill is our toaster - works well. Sure you can do all those things if you want to, and of course self-flagellation with fresh nettles doesn't use any battery power either. Your choice. But don't dis those who make a different choice.

Thanks for reminding me! I see stinging nettles outside our kitchen window, aye, they'll do nicely in our cold, salty porridge. Thistle sandwiches for lunch. Where have you got to foxy?
