I thought it's because he's lived in Finland to long.

Righty-oh! Nice Polish bicycle-repair-man put new front mudguard on me pushbike. I scraped with new, sharp chisels in engine room and pleased to discover what look liked fractures in the frame the engine sits on were just the edges of scales of rust. Ended up scraping half the engine room floor which I painted Aug 2014 - I'm guessing the dryness has made rust bubble under the new paint. Covered in a new layer of red oxide; green Hammerite to go over in a day or two. Elsan emptied, drinking water bottles filled. Wine cellar needs re-stocking. Logs all cut and axed and made our own kindling - the Co-op is asking £5/bag for kindling (usually £2 at Hebden Bridge coal merchants). Bell ringing 1000 to call the sinful to church - or just to annoy them! "Logs all cut and axed and made our own kindling" Have you seen something naughty in the forecast or do you cook with a wood stove? It's 'Grim oooop North......' (well actually its 21 degrees at the mo, but don't tell Foxy)

We've had the stove on every day bar one. Gets chilly in evenings and early mornings.

No he just likes to see smoke coming out of the chimney This be true. That's the best thing about boating.

Cycled to Malham and hiked to the top of the 'scar/cove' to strut about a bit on the limestone pavement. Lots of rubbish in the grikes, and a dog poo bag abandoned on a clint. Humans can be wretched. Fine weather with the south-western horizon being brooded over by Pendle the Magnificent Beastie. Smoke once again pouring out of our chimney. Other side of engine room floor scraped and painted with red oxide. A South African Shiraz-Grenache now, as accompaniment to some cracking Richmond cheese and Wensleydale Blue.

as accompaniment to some cracking Richmond cheese and Wensleydale Blue. You seem to have come over all Gromit... Is the north getting to you?

Always liked the Pennines. Richmond would make a fine town to live in. Swaledale, Coverdale, Apedale. The only dale not named after its river is Wensleydale. Now very quiet on the canal, the weekenders have gorn. Tea room & house for sale in Gargrave, tempting...

Rather strangely I was looking at a job advert located at Malham Tarn and looking at potential moorings in the area. Still all dreams of a new start in life though...
