Nope - retired as for the weather... I get up in the morning, make my first coffee, open the doors to the front, set up the director chairs and sit down to enjoy the suroundings at that time I decide if it's a shorts & summer top day or a pants and long sleeved top type of day, every now and then I shake it up a bit and through on a dress! If it's raining - I take a big umbrella out with me. Today is a pants and 1/2 sleeve top type of day and yes the umbrella was needed for the first 2 cups of coffee this morning - but all my plants are very happy, so it's not all bad

According to the latest BBC weather report we are supposed to have been experiencing heavy rain for the last few hours here. I know predicting the weather is a challenge but when they can't get it right for NOW, it doesn't give you a lot of confidence. I think the BBC get the data from the met but I'm wondering if it's delayed by a number of hours. That might explain it. Alternatively, (paranoia hat on) it all adds to their policy of depressing everyone.... Look at the synoptic charts and make your own weather forecasts. But if it's showery, it's hit and miss whether one will happen above you, which is where live radar rainfall plots on a phone or tablet comes in handy - at least you get a bit of notice. The satellite pics are quite good to get a general idea what's going on... en.sat24.com/enAnyway it's started raining now. I reckon the BBC weather isn't delayed now, it's just that THEY use phychic Meg.

It's still raining here...and there was me all set to repair her fence next door that I may just have inadvertently broken...went out to buy panels and nails..the very kind man in the shop gave me nails as I said I couldn't possibly buy 1kg of 2 inch nails...where on earth could I use all them up...well suppose if i had the fence would never fall down again.

We drove the boat in the rain this morning. My waterproofs (Made in China) are not waterproof. Three locks & three swing bridges. T-shirt & shorts to wash the boat at 7am. Water tank filled, Thetford emptied, stove been on all day. Launderette and library tomorrow.

If you don't mind being camouflaged, you can pick up lightweight breathable Gortex army jackets and trousers for around £30 each. They are brilliant....well they should be as the army use them...

Darksky have a very good Android app. Netweather.tv website has a good rainfall radar and forecast for individual postcodes. The Darksky app can even alert you to imminent rain, giving you time to get the washing in.

Has Netweather improved recently, I stopped using it after the original owner got convicted of kiddy fiddling.

We live on an island between a big sea and a continent. This causes variations in our climate. The weather stone is the true indicator. Carry an umbrella/raincoat and get on with it. Mind you it's always an excuse for a good moan. All that aside, I use the met office app. Horses mouth and all that.
