Thanks for the link. Both the IWA link above, and the link in the iwa bulletin make for interesting reading - www.waterways.org.uk/news_campaigns/campaigns/consultation_responses/pdfs/crt_licence_structure . I was surprised at the IWA proposal to extend the CC requirements to "a significant distance per annum (eg 300 miles)" together with a big increase in licence costs for those that either don't have a home mooring, or are not " genuinely continuously cruising". On here there are some strong views on licensing, but it sounds like there were a lot of 'no-shows' at the boater consultation events, so we should all be making our views known to CRT unless we agree with the IWA which has a louder voice than any individual as CRT does not seem to be getting much feedback from individual boaters.

I cancelled my membership because I as a member wasnt consulted about my views. I suggest all members cancel and that will end this organisation that couldnt really care less about its members. As Jenlyn says they are a bag of shit only interested in themselves I agree

I tried very hard to get accepted for a show but was refused somehow I think that people were chosen for the shows so that the feedback was what was wanted!! thats a lot of words starting with W

Bit of a giggle the way the IWA say that length x beam licensing will make it cheaper for people to have starter boats.
I don't think thats what its about - more likely to to do with cruising club members generally having small boats, and being IWA members, and hating large boats.

I think any boat built after 1967 should pay 20% extra. any boat built after 1993 should pay 40% extra. ....... and any boat with fake rivets should pay double

At the workshop someone admitted they were jealous of widebeams. God, was that a breath of fresh air...fair play.....

As Jenlyn says they are a bag of shit only interested in themselves I agree I remember a deputy chair of IWA suggesting at a crt association's meeting that live aboards were freeloading. It never got out in the minutes or notes, but I kept the recording. Some of these people are disgusting bigots.

They sound like ideal TBF members. Chips shouldered bigoted weirdos.
Does anyone on here admit to being an IWA twat?
