Elon Musk the Tesla cars bloke who also does spacecraft has been encouraging people to work on a high speed (target 750mph) cannister and tube transport system. A bit like those things they put the cash in at tesco but you put people rather than cash in it. I don't really fancy it but I suppose if time is money and you really need to be somewhere fast it could be a competitor to overland aircraft. Specially in a place like the US of A. Is it the long distance transport system of the future? arstechnica.co.uk/cars/2017/07/hyperloop-one-full-system-test/

You can't see much in a tube. Traveling should be about enjoying quality time like everything else.

I agree and its against my religion to ever be in a hurry to get somewhere but fast transport such as planes does seem to be quite popular. I have not travelled in a jet aircraft since the early 90s but I am guilty of having used HS1 and TGV in France a few times over the last decade.

Agreed, although I've been up the Esgair Daffyd competitively on the bike, didn't look too much at the stunning scenery until we did day two which was an untimed run. Had a good time through there and got best 250cc award 💪👍🍻

Bloody petrolheads.
Apparently the hyperloop will have the same efficiency per passenger as a bicycle.
I hate bicycles but it would be pretty cool to have a high speed over land transport system which uses close to zero energy.

Watch the YouTube clip 👍 The historics are well supported, nothing like a BDA/BDG echoing through the forestry Although many of the modified open class MK 2' stuff running on Tarmac - especially in Ireland use Millington or trick Volvo motors.

Watched it already, I just didn't realise you appreciated such stuff. I used to hand draw his cars....not that I have any remaining now.
