CRT email me about stoppages, but I can't find anything about Hawkesbury stop lock. What is the problem with it? It seems strange that a lock on such a busy part of the network would not receive priority attention and repaired, even temporarily within a day or so.
EDIT Found it now, vandalism. Anyone know the extent of the vandalism?

Lorraine at the Leeds office is painting her fingernails. When they're dry she may be bothered to add more to the notice concerning Hawkesbury.

I've had an update from CRT and the cause has now been changed to "accidental boat collision" which has damaged metalwork.

I've had an update from CRT and the cause has now been changed to "accidental boat collision" which has damaged metalwork. This stoppage is relevant to us because there is a gathering of Hudson boats for a "bit of a do" at Glascote basin this weekend. We are the right side of the stoppage but unfortunately some of our friends aren't. Apparently, and this is according to my friend who is the wrong side who got it from another Hudson owner who was just about to go into the lock and so saw it first hand, there was some sort of metal protrusion from the open lock gate, a bolt or the like. As a boat came out of the lock, this bolt popped into a small opening on the boat (maybe a gas locker vent, or other such aperture) and was consequently ripped along, damaging the wood and then, when it released, scoring the side of their boat.

A passing boater on a historic boat just told me it will be re-opened tomorrow. Don't know if that is so.
