Got to say I always though it tasted how I imagined poo to taste. Might be an expert here who could confirm....

Jane loved Green & Blacks when it first came out.
But then they significantly reduced the cocoa content, and she said it became bog standard Cadbury crap.
She was very disappointed.

Owned by Kraft, a US company that shafted Cadbury's and the Swedish Marabou who shifted their workers to the Unemployment Office. Do you really think they give a toss about 'sustainability' or the well-being of cocoa farmers in Central America? You could pop along to their mansions on Long Island (train from Manhattan) to ask them, only they'll not let you near, they'll have their security monkeys beat you up and then set the dogs on what's left.
If it says 'Mondelez' don't but it. Foul swill not fit for pigs nor swans.

A few of us on here have been the lucky recipient of Foxyy's Finish chocolate - the dwarf ask for proper chocolate, if a 3 year old who doesn't have much in the way of reference points nor a very high chocolate intake can tell the difference Kraft should hang their head in shame.
Sadly, it's all gone now so we are back to the Aldi Dairyfine stuff, which is ok, but not a patch on the Finish stuff.

I believe G&B started off as an independent based in London. Their chocolate was exceptionally high in cocoa and therefore very rich, not the 'lard' type of consistency of most chocolate. As with many things in life, I think we just pay for the name now. Mind you, I'm a pig, and even like Cadburys chocolate Rog

Fraud I've become something of a chocolate connassier and now find I don't eat so much ... I donated all my cheaper stuff to little sis whose tastes have not been compromised by the nicer stuff.

I hate globalisation...
Never really been a fan of chocolate so just treat myself occasionally, 24 Malt Whisky filled treats from the local chocolate factory normally lasts me 6 months (nowadays it's my only venture into the 'spirit world' as well).

Like it or loathe it 'Globalisation' is here to stay..we either embrace it or let it run rings around us.... Says one who views most of it through long distance lens.....

I disagree. You can support real, genuinely independent people/firms/companies/products. You can fight back against 'globalisation'. There are benefits of world-widely accepted standards, but foisting bland products on a hapless captive audience is not one of them. Feel free to take the piss out of anyone who works for 'Mondelez'.

Globalisation isn't so bad, as long as you can live your life in a way whereby you avoid many of its downsides. On a canal boat, for example. I do feel sorry for those who can't avoid its downsides though, those who live in towns and cities, have massed migration and a lower standard of living foisted on them, and are called out as racists and bigots if they complain about this.

Although as yet I've not eaten any - it's pride of place with the other gifts... I even took photos which I'll post when Andy gets up (I left my phone in the other room )
