Just read Gazza's comments about false advice being given about having nasty hatches cut into boats I was told we would have to have a hatch cut in the stern bulkhead of our Broads cruiser this meant the hatch would be right by the back door. My response to this piece of advice was two words connected to sex and travel. Phil

My response to this piece of advice was two words connected to sex and travel. Phil They did the same with ventilation. There is a 9" x 6" vent in our 50 year old door that needn't be there. It was done before we got her, meaning she managed about 40 years with no one suffocating onboard prior to having the door vandalised on the say so of a poorly written BSS scheme. another favourite is the incorrect advice to change flexible spill rails to rigid, it can't be done on Ford XLD engines due to the type of injector used, hasn't stopped lots of people needlessly changing them on things like BMC'S.
