I'll not quote you then I think even doghouse would have to accept that he does seek confrontation readily on here, although I'm sure he'll justify it. I think we all know that so there's no need to respond in kind, we can all read the posts and make our own minds up. Of course it's easier said than done I know. Rog I bet we can't go even 24 hours without some calling someone something. It does seem to be the same few aiming at the same people. so to me they can carry on. no one has attacked me YET. although I've not done it to anyone else, well maybe a little Mickey taking which you may of been subject to, but that's a little banter. It's not always easy to differentiate between banter and attack on forums though. Even emoticons can be misused. .....,

I will note that magnetmans response above is in my opinion banter. it's probaly easier if it's coming from some posters Vs others. but as I've been nice to everyone, I do feel that if towards me it pro sky is banter or otherwise it would be an unprovoked attack.

So how long are you planning to stay up in the desolate North?.... My last trek up there so time constrained didn't have chance to go anywhere apart from the trip away...normally I like to amble back via stoppages but endoscopy for biopsies booked so had to trek on and drive too far for me in a day. Endoscopy every bit as delightful as previous with the added complication of unforeseen panic attack complicating stuff....I felt battered..I've had 4 now and without doubt their claims that its not so bad nowadays cos of better equipment...in my oh so humble opinion is this is a lie..this was the worst... I have also suffered the indignity of having what felt like a box brownie stuffed up my nether regions and I agree .... excruciating !!! I only had to suffer it once ..... the positive results and following operations have ensured that it never can happen again ..... I look upon that as one of the (few) blessings. but to answer the original question .... I'm not sure .... Peterboat of this parish has offered to crew up to York, somewhere I fancy visiting also later I fancy running up to Goole and possibly up the Trent as far as I can. I'm in no hurry to go back South as I don't want to get stuck on my permanent mooring until I have had a good cruise round. Even if I head South I probably will try and overwinter in the Blackwater, Crouch or Roach so I can cruise next summer. A lot will depend on how much easier Sabina is to handle after the modifications.

God this place is such fun..... Seems like France isn't. There's much more going on here than Carnalworld's Virtual Pub, that's as dry as the J-cloth I left on top of Ayer's Rock last Christmas - I had a peek this morning. By the way, are u anywhere near Arbois / ChΓ’teau Chalon? Yellow wines from there. The only thing letting side down is the internet connectivity which is somewhat erratic at the no. Hence my ability to only join in the witty banter of a sporadic basis. The weather is fabulous and of course the food and wine is just that too. The area we are based in currently is about 10 miles south of Annecy on the hills just up from the lake. The scenery is stunning and the whole area is peppered with ptetty towns and villages. So no France is as good as ever as it happens. I do like to check in from time to time to see what the lab rats are up to though it's getting even more difficult now as I am also running low on data and I am not sure if the need to keep a tap on 'the thunderboat experiment' justifies the expense of buying more GB's or not. I may at some point just vanish until we get down to Spain where the Wi-Fi on the site we are headed to is supposed to be much better.

When will you think of a better term than lab rats?
After a while it begins to sound like a broken record..broken record..broken record
Etc

Chateau Chalon is 181km north-west(ish) from Annecy, and Arbois is a bit north-east of Chateau Chalon. We stopped overnight in Arbois and bought a bottle of yellow wine, next day had a look around Chateau Chalon and bought another bottle of yellow wine, and a dessert wine from Chateau Chalon. Then we drove past Annecy, popped into the Mont Blanc tunnel, and back into Switzerland over the St Bernard Pass. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A2teau-Chalon_AOC

bottle of yellow wine Like what they use to make yellow snow? Err.... no. You didn't open the wikilink did you? It's not really a wine as such, more of a sherry...? Barrel not kept topped up contantly, air gets in, wine matures beneath layer of mould. I should like to spend a year travelling around France, sampling wines and cheeses and getting to know the areas. But we went and bought a canal boat so are restricted to England for now. Happy to support your ailing economy
