Latest update, at Great Haywood Junction tonight. Thinking of altering plans and going to the River Weaver via the Anderton Boat Lift. Anyone done that? no but we did watch boats go up and down. it's on our list to do. I've done the Anderton Boat Lift on a trip boat, in fairness the lift itself is a bit of an anticlimax once you're on it but the River Weaver was nice and I wouldn't mind exploring a bit more of it.

Posting a pic on here has its hazards.... as compliments appear to be in short supply I'll redress the balance.... what a lovely shade of yellow that t shirt is..... that's why I used a photo of my little girl instead of me

It is well worth the trip.
The Weaver is smashing ...... I went there with Shapfell and thoroughly enjoyed it ...... I only had time to spend two days on the Weaver and have always promised myself a return trip for much longer.

So, I'm confused as to where you are now, with your mention of sighting jenlyn down the GU.
Are you at Gt Haywood heading back to Anderton?

Rog Armada, just after Newbold Tunnel or Rose Narrowboats at Brinklow, although I believe Armada is closed on Sundays and Rose Narrowboats only open until mid-day.

Mark on the fuel boat Callisto should be coming through Rugby Tuesday/Wednesday, I normally get my diesel from him. He's a little more expensive than Armada but I like to support the fuel boats. EDIT Here's a picture of his dog, Callie.

We use Mark in winter, but he's not out so much at this time of year.
Just sending him a text to fix up for a fill up.
Thanks for that.

No, he's not been around for a couple of months but he is apparently expected at Stretton Stop on Wednesday.

Callisto is a really nice boat. I've got a soft spot for star class GUCCCo boats.

OK, the latest news is that I have decided to carry on heading north, and am aiming for the River Weaver. I'm at Westport Lake right now, probably one of the prettiest visitor moorings I know. I'll maybe take tomorrow off and do an engine service. My boy is coming up on 8th September and will help me thrash the boat back to Rose Narrowboats in time for blacking on the 18th. Then I'm going back to Ramsgate for the week as Rose Narrowboats say I can't stay on the boat while the blacking is done. I'm staying with my girlfriend but I think we are probably going to split up as it just isn't working out what with me living so far away now and being so boat obsessed. I saw a boat called "Mr T and Scary" yesterday, how strange is that?
