Thanks for the offer. I didn't take the photo as I didn't know how to post it. I thought all you knowledgeable types would recognise what I was talking about. Rog Isn't that your boat in your avatar? You must have managed to upload that? I did indeed. But what I did for that doesn't work now. Please don't ask me why. Rog

I also would like to know why, when I tap an 'i' (letter) into my cellphone whilst writing on Thunderboat, the cursor then jumps upwards somewhere to the original poster's date/time area and carries on adding letters up there. When I notice I have to press 'back' to get rid of it all, and add a letter or two to correct the original, then jump back down to my own text. This may happen several times at the same spot of my text, or after once, or twice, it will carry on as normal. If I put another letter, for example 'm', in between the last word and the word beginning with i, this prevents the cursor jump.
So if I want to say 'when it' I should write 'whenmit' and go back and delete the m and add a space so that I get 'when it'.
This only happens on Thunderboat so I suspect that a company that offers a free discussion boards service has not really paid much for a software system. However, for what it may be, Thunderboat does seem to work pretty well, it may be a little erratic, but the design and general layout is good.

She is out of the water at the moment and the offer has been withdrawn, she is a proper boat, chined hull and a keel, I wouldnt like to think how much she cost new but today she would be about 200k I suspect. We have thought about buying her and the extra storage required for a livaboard could be done, but the pumpout would have to be removed and their isnt enough roof space for solar etc. Having said all that she is by far the best looking narrowboat I have seen in a long time, Foxy clearlt needs an eye test lol

Bloomin' cold in winter with all those beautiful windows. That's why I said not a liveaboard boat, not lack of storage. Rog PS you're right, foxy must be blind

I have had a look at an Inspection launch today Esperance at aquaductbrokerage it was a very good looking boat, in fact I was very tempted but it was just so narrow!! I have 2 choices for my next boating life its either the broads or constant cruiser, its just that I dont think I could live in a narrowboat again even one as beautiful as Esperance, look her up she is a thing of beauty Link- www.aqueductmarina.co.uk/second-hand-boats/esperance-leeds-liverpool-inspection-launch/Nice looking boat but I just can't see it as being suitable as a liveaboard. Incidentally, I bought Desiree from Aqueduct brokerage. EDIT- now listed as "under offer". Just had a look at this boat, she looks very different and I quite like her looks, but as been said, probably far from ideal as a liveaboard. I didin't see that she's "under offer", the boat that's listed underneath is "under offer", but if she is, the offer hasn't been made by me . Peter.

Apart from the windows, which are a massive downside in colder weather, a chined hull (as in not "slab sided like a normal narrow boat") will severely reduce floor space and/or headroom on a UK narrow beam vessel. Its a nice idea but unless you go a but wider the result is a fairly annoying boat and you have to be careful about the amount of glass unless its sealed units and even then they blow regularly One of my boats is a 9ft wide "Inspection lauch" and even at that beam the loss of floor space is noticeable.

They are double glazed units which would help but the issue for me was space toilet and that huge engine!! 62 hp in a narrowboat is going some. I think if I was committed to it I would put in a lower offer and change things to suit me, but all it has done is make my mind up that my boat is nearly perfik, and a newer broads cruiser will be the way of the future, after I have finished playing with the bathtub.
