I hadn't realised Mike was doing the fiddly-joystick stuff himself. Is that so? How do you keep the whirlygig still in one place as your boat passes underneath? Nerves of steel?
I think a documentary about the canals/waterways made mostly (or 50%?) with a quadcopter could be a television success. Maybe a series - one canal per week?

Not 100% sure and I don't think Mike is on here to confirm if he had a "pilot" but 0:52 on the video looks like the drone controller is on the hatch and he is steering the boat without using hands.
Its OK but if you got lots of other boaters doing the same thing it might get a bit problematic.
I think the drones can keep position automatically and follow a track as mentioned earlier.

Cheers foxy - We're friends with them as it happens... and now they're moored 2 boats behind us, having just moved from Kings lock...
The drone driving "tends" to be done by their 18 year old son - Tony is on here too... his woodwork puts mine to shame ... (although I do have neater paint work... for the time being lol)

There were drones/quadcops for sale in the Elisa telephone shop we went into yesterday in Kokkola. We settled for Samsung J5 for Witchy, 249 Euros, for me a Samsung A5, 299 Euros. The Samsung A5 is 450 Euros in Kannus where I work - so worth a 40 minute drive to Kokkola to save 151 Euros! I've been reading about the A5 and think it is quite suitable for me and what I use a phone for. Alarm clock tone(s), ringing tone and WhatsApp notification tone already customised by me this morning. Our old phones - both Samsung Galaxy S2 - were 3.5 years old, just time for a change, otherwise they worked fine (and still do - any offers??!!). Camera still to be tested, but I've already added the Olympus Share app and usually use the camera to take better pics and transfer them via WiFi to the phone (more pixels/better quality). Now to add the contacts manually - I prefer to do it by hand rather than machine-swap/synchronisation as I can decide who I want to drop off into the pits of Hell, and if I have met any nice people recently I can 'add' them.

All very fascinating. I love learning about how other people interact with their electronic devices. Its very fulfilling.
Mind how you go with the manual data input. Its full of dangers which a lot of people may be unaware of.

Yes my bank tells me it's frozen part of my account to stop me doing something they told me to do... apparently there are a few of us affected by this err glitch...now as the info came in text form from the bank and they recognise the info sent summat not quite right. However I rarely do what they ask without phoning to check what they mean because I've been scammed a few times. Hate banks...Hate internet banking

Is this Ellis at 0:34 ? Yes it is. It's only a few weeks after Quaysider got it. P. S the drone is insured for 3rd party damage through the Model Flying association.
