Arrived at Cogenhoe lock going downstream to find a cruiser tied up on the upstream lock moorings, no licence, no name, no visible identification whatsoever. That wouldnt bother me if the twunt was moored sonewhere else, lock landings on the Nene are short anyway. Even the downstream lock landing would have been a better place for it.
rant subsiding now, good job he wasn't there or I would have ripped his head off. Twunt

Hopefully you didn't quite manage to avoid bashing into it?

But you untied him, right? And now the boat is at King's Lynn. Oh, swept away into The Wash. It's at Lincoln now!

We arrived at Lilford to find a Muppet with a little Shetland stopped smack bang in the middle of the landing having his lunch. At the time my friend was a little low on confidence with her boat handling, she had to reverse her Freeman against the prop walk, she ended up crunching the side and damaging the rubber fendering insert. I arrived a minute or two later, after seeing what had gone on and how annoyed she was - having had her life made more difficult than it need have been I went and had a chat with Muppet, sadly he had only enough braincells to carry out vital functions, not being able to grasp why he was wrong and what he could have done to prevent himself being a bloody nuisance to everyone else. The ignorant twat ignoredy my advice to move at least to the end if he wasn't prepared to clear off. Some people are beyond help

It looks too as if an incompetent boater has smashed into magnetman's comments as they too have been swept down the Nene into the North Sea.....
(Perhaps he deleted them out of shame with sandk asking him if he has nothing better to do than post inane remarks.)

gazza posted a sensible comment which made mine look too silly so I removed it.

rant subsiding now, good job he wasn't there or I would have ripped his head off. Just as well he wasn't there then. You'd have looked a right prick if he wasn't that bothered about slapping wrinkly old twat.

We lost count of the number of boats moored on lock landings on the Trent.Beeston was the worst.😠 Agree about Beeston. We were a week moored above the lock. During all that time the section signed as lock landing was occupied by the same 2 boats. Not too bad as most boats use the landing immediately above the lock. However, the pontoon above the lock isbparg VMs and part lock landing. Bloody annoying when you come out of the lock and then have to stop against an empty, moored boat in order to pick up your crew. I know there's always the other side but that is too high for my wife.
