I suspect it might be because I suggested the product might be counterfeit. I suppose that until they have verified that they don't want to get into some dispute about libel with their 3rd party seller. This was the actual text, not offensive and mostly factual: "The tape didn't arrive in the retail packaging shown, just in a clear envelope. It didn't print properly. It lacked the lot number marking and QR-type code stamped on another "genuine" tape cassette that I have. I therefore conclude that this is probably counterfeit tape sold as being genuine Dymo tape. I've returned it and reported the discrepancy to Amazon." I can't see anything wrong with that TBH, I have certainly seen the word 'fake' 'counterfeit' etc. in Amazon reviews before (and on eBay), possibly after being verified as such?? I don't really see anything wrong with it either, which is why I submitted it! But clearly Amazon do, which is mostly the point of this thread!

Is that supposed to mean something? Yes, it was the word missing from my post. As in 'agreeing with you Nick'. Rather than 'agreeing with Nick'.

like others I use both. more Amazon for books and stuff. I have ever ordered anything used though.
eBay is mugh better for buying second hand stuff.
if your prepared to trawl through it there are some excellent bargains to be hand.
it's great when they misspell something and it generates no bids.

Must admit I use both and generally don't have any problems.
In fact the last issue I had was a purchase from Ebay that never arrived and credit to the seller I received an instant refund. Some weeks later the missing parcel was found behind a bush in the garden (shit Royal Mail!) where it had been lying for a couple of weeks. I contacted the seller and made an instant payment to him which was appreciated.

I had the most appalling time with an amazon seller. They wanted to deliver a patio table and 6 chairs in 5 deliveries over 6 days, when I told them to deliver all at once was told they had no control over carrier (DPD).
Items arrived from the Netherlands and looked like they had visited every city in Europe. 6 phone calls to Germany 48 emails and a whole lot of frustration resulted in a damning review on Amazon... which they rejected as it was about the service received and not the product!,
decided at at that point that they don’t need my business and I certainly don’t need theirs!,

I use Amazon and ebay for nearly all purchases of specific items where I am not certain I could buy the same from our local shopping centre, or are simply so inexpensive that it doesn't justify the petrol for the 8 mile round trip. So all books, gadgets, car parts, hardware, boaty bits, and so on.
It makes life so much simpler, but it helps that I am retired so that either I or my missus can receive courier deliveries at home any time from 8am to 7pm.
I have a success rate of about 99%, most of the failures are delayed or non deliveries; by and large the products themselves are exactly what they purport to be.

I use both, never had any problems with either of them. Love my Amazon Fire TV stick and the Kindles. Had to return one kindle back in the days of when they were the old keypad ones due to the screen freezing and had excellent service from their returns dept sending the new kindle out directly with return labels for the old one and just dropped it off at the newsagent down the road for collection.
When my old series 3 kindle finally died I decided to get a Fire Tablet as replacement. Ordered it that morning and it arrived as stated the same evening.

Over 1200 positive EBay transactions including many many cheap Chinese, hassle free LCD bulb sets and solar sets / regulators that I can make an easy 400% markup stitching into a never ending supply of lazy / can't be arsed / CWF members / 'dumb fucks who don't understand electrics' that come to me. Just out of interest, are you quite happy to stitch up "' 'dumb fucks who don't understand electrics' " ? 'Stitch up' maybe isnt the correct term admittedly... undercut 'on line businesses who really take the piss who others recommend ' would perhaps be more accurate!! But to charge for what's taken me 30 years for my knowledge that I've had to work for...Yes quite happy!
