Use your cruise control in all but NSL, then go for it. Not all the money from speeding offences is wasted. This is funded by speeding fines. www.carkraft.info/A good initiative from Northants police. 21 years of riding and driving, clean slate, admit to driving like my hair's on fire when sage to do so Northants Police are rabid when it comes to Traffic Policing, you want to get stopped in one of their Multi Agency Checkpoints they are fun. We were at the forefront of the camera initiative back in 2000. One blew up on the A605 at Thrapston, unveiling of first set of averaging cameras on the A428 at Yardley Hastings delayed when someone lopped em down 24 hours before the civic opening The RPU lads are fairly good to be honest, we had a good event at Rockingham Speedway organised by them over the Easter Weekend, reaching out to the community and all that bollocks

Well you have my sympathy, I picked up a ticket for doing 33mph about 30mtrs from the derestriction sign coming out of our village by a mobile tucked in the drive of the last empty house on the outskirts. Yes I was over but for heaven's sake 3mph!! and just about on the line, just an excuse to collect more money. I opted out of the driving course because A. it was cheaper and B. on my past driving record I'll be in my box before I get another ticket. The fact I got 3 points did not impact at all on my insurance As far as the mobile was concerned, in truth it would have been better deployed in the village itself. Phil Its the insurance I worry about Phil,I have several policies commercial and private and come renewal its a total nightmare. Another issue is doing renewals online, any discrepancies some of these companies just cancel the insurance with an email if your lucky.

I did one at Silverstone, good session on the low friction surfaces, classroom session ollowed up by a one on one assessed drive with a traffic Sargent, blew away some of my hang ups about plod and what they expect from a keen motorist. They have had to change the format a bit to cater for the numbers - no one on one now. The police officers are also doing it in their days off.

To be honest I have good reports about this speed awareness course,I just dread getting sat next to the idiot who want to tell everyone about his experience and how he put the Police right.Every course seems to have these idiots no matter what the topic is.

I knew that I was only jesting. The last time I was at Silverstone,I had got an invitation from Silverstone Porsche who used to be up by Becketts Park back in the day.I can't remember how I got the invite but the memory of going round the course at 170mph in a Cayenne Turbo will be forever etched in my brain,we were four up and as it swept through the bends it was rock solid,no roll no nothing, all by computer of course.

Ah, right. They use the Porsche Experience as the base at Silverstone. The old Porsche dealer in Northampton is now my Skoda dealer

I see these idiots on the road every day Gazza, its funny to how they always seem to drive BMW or Audi, fucking cavemen. The ones that swerve in front of you and slam the brakes on to prove a point. The trouble is that Road Traffic Policing is now largely intelligence led,you seldom hear of anyone being stopped for bad driving unless its post serious incidents such as the one you refer to

I pointed out the pitfalls of such behaviour, which can ultimately lead to things like this happening but it fell on deaf ears. Thank fuck me and the dwarf didn't get tangled up with this cunt. We were traveling to my mates in Wellingborough to watch the rugby. I normally don't get to hung up on stuff like this, but by fuck its bothered me this time, more to do with the fact we were nearly caught up in it.

I meant to say, if I read it right he is a homosexual caveman, something I didn't think existed. The reason I say this is the article says he worked for JLR, the article describes the other passenger as his partner and the Merc driver says he saw two men laughing. Now he could be his business partner, who knows?
Maybe I'm putting and 2+2 together and coming up with 5, but that's how I read it.

Yeah I think your right Gazza. When you watch the dash cam footage its an incredible piece of driving especially his pulling inside the stationary Mercedes then cutting him up in order to make the right turn

Does anyone know how many speed cameras on the M1 actually work? I used to drive there at about 75mph and plenty of cars were going faster. But I got flashed recently and am waiting to see if I get a 'ticket'. But I have not seen the flash go off before and most drivers are ignoring the cameras. I think 33 in a 30 limit is too close to the accuracy limits of the camera to be a fair cop but I realise that any speed over 20mph exponentially increases the risk to pedestrians and dismounted motorists.
