When you have something like this to post foxy why not start a new thread rather than tacking it on an already running one? More people will see it then. I'm referring to the post befor your last one about knostrop.

The following piece of noteworthy hypocrisy concerning the 'stoppage' on the Shropshire Union has been posted on the Analworld Forum by a Thunderboat member who, earlier in this thread, was having a lot to say about how C&RT's performance in certain areas outshines British Waterways efforts :-
All a bit of a farce really. Apparently the volockies at Bunbury took it upon themselves to "close" it and the next lock down (Tilstone mill) and put hand-writted "lock closed" signs up along with some yellow tape. The chap in charge of Anglo Welsh was having none of it, had a business to run, boats to turn round etc and cut the yellow tape, rammed a few hire boats back and forth over the detritus to clear a path, and back to business as usual! We met a CRT boat en route to the scene, but left them at the Iron lock for their lunch break. Their advice was to go for it! They weren't quite sure what they were going to do with an empty work boat when they got there anyway! At Tilstone lock there were 3 CRT people milling around, one in a posh jacket (office bod) who didn't flinch as we came into the allegedly closed lock.
They just need to get a dredger, or mini-digger on a boat to the scene, scoop it out and all will be fine. But organising that seems to be problematic!
There was just a small stream - ditch really, running down from the slight embankment. There is a small pond thing above, and it seems something gave way and a volume of water went into the canal carrying a lot of silt and rubble.
No prizes for guessing who it was !

Or perhaps senility is getting the better of you and you have forgotten that I said there was an element of swings and roundabouts? I mentioned the swings (BCN) but I didn’t feel it necessary to mention the roundabouts since there are plenty of folk on here who enjoy doing that. In this and other threads I have repeatedly commented on the maintenance issues we all see. Now poke off back to your burrow.

I think foxys irrelevant ramblings were quite important in their own right. It was the right thing to give it it's own thread.
