When voting next month remember which organisation put up the price of red diesel to us boaters and who wanted it banned? Serious point interference from some organsations knows no bounds! I have posted this on the other channel fully expecting a ban but it is a serious point and boaters should remember that if we vote in they may force the government to ban red diesel mmmm

One of my boating friends works for HMRC and is in charge of some fuel duty teams they have been asked by the EU why they are not checking boats!! so it only goes to show given half a chance they will have red diesel away from us

Even if red diesel was banned for boat use, boaters would still be able to buy it from roadside pumps, and even if HMRC did ever take an interest in the vanishingly small amount of fuel duty owed by narrowboaters, it would take years, decades in many cases, before red diesel would be purged from the average narrowboat fuel tank through use to the point where it could not be detected, and HMRC couldn't take action over rebated fuel purchased before a rule change.
I'm voting "out" but this is just a minor eu irritation rather than my main reason, which is that we should be able to both vote in and out the people who govern us.

Is there any thread they don't put their nose into and tell everyone to behave? She stifled an interesting conversation and turned into "this is what happened last time I filled up." Now there's a real attention-getter of a topic!

She does come across as a bit dim.

The moderation style among the new CWDF moderators seems to become increasingly bizarre and irrational for about a week, approximately every 28 days, and I just can't work out why this is.

I've found the moderation there to be consistently abysmal 24/7/365. I think the real problem is that most of the mods there belong to the Can't Understand Normal Thinking club, and nobody wants to be bossed around by a C.U.N.T.

I wouldnt be so sure about red diesel being available at roadside pumps. The Wallers farmer friends of mine have been filling forms in for years showing fuel ,they believe red diesel will be gone in a few years, as more and more modern farm vehicles cant run on it. When I buy red I get white with dye added when they buy red they get real red diesel which is lower grade but cheaper, some farms dont have that choice. If farms stop using red [thats why all the usage forms have gone in] red will be gone and plant and farmers will claim a tax back on usage

It simply cannot be mechanically possible for an engine to run on derv but not on rebated fuel, unless it's a tractor which is a bit sniffy about tax avoidance.
