After 5 months of trying (through word of mouth and extended circles) to find new homes for the cats, we've finally resorted to the cats protection people. This is really a stab in the dark but we're trying to re-home our 2 cats... to someone on LAND - George really does hate the boat. linkSOMEWHERE during our chat, they must have gotten hold of the wrong end of the stick - re. our reasons for moving onto a boat. To quote "Dad's fallen on hard times and moved us on to a narrowboat"... I suppose that might make someone take pity on them - ironically, we have offered to keep paying their medical insurance, provide the new owners with a years worth of Frontline (flea/tick stuff) and Drontil (worming stuff) that we'd already bought AND pay the adoption fee to the charity, transfer the "chip data" and transfer the vaccinations for life policy to go with them It seems "real" now they are officially listed as unwanted... and to be truthful, it doesn't feel very good to be trying to find them new homes....Despite that, we do know it IS the right thing for George

Yeah I think I'll post it over there too... Thanks for the offer of "shifting them" but we've still got car each so we're ok. Very decent of you though.

Good luck, I imagine it shouldn't be too difficult to find somebody who will want them and love them. I mean, it's not as if either of them are ginger.

well I've posted it on the other side under "items wanted" and put it as "new home wanted for 2 cats"
Of course it won't appear unless a moderator approves it... hey ho.

Cats are quite good at finding themselves homes. I'd move them on board and if they don't like it and sit on the roof moaning, sod them.

I'll have them. I see four kebabs and a couple of Davy Crockett hats there.

Yes, nasty bird botherers. Dogs are your friend, cats, your master.

You may have explained before, if so I missed it, but what did you get placed on CWDF pre-mod for? You seem very inoffensive and while being ginger may be unfortunate, it isn't a crime. Was it something else?

lol you lot DO go off on tangents...
er, I'm not on Pre-mod... what I meant was that when you post something in wanted/for sale etc, they have to be approved by a mod before they show... that's all.
The cats ARE already on board and have been for a few months... George just hates it. massively over-grooming. Vets suggestion is to plug a fellway "drug" thingy in to the mains sockets - er hello, I dont want him to be unhappy but as the inverter uses 6ah to be "on" that's a lot of charging required to drug a cat!
They will NOT be turned into Kebabs thank you Vince... - I suppose I could make a batch of curry though ?...
Sox is a brilliant mouser though - rarely a day goes by that she doesn't bring one back for me! or a shrew... I dont mind if they are already dead, but when she drops a live on, it's all I can do to catch the darn thing before it dissapears down the gap behind the cassette toilet and into the under-dinette storage area where the fin rads are.
