During the first Gulf War, I once parachuted into Iraq, hid inside a camel carcass for a week, then took an entire ISIS regiment bunch of sand wogs by surprise as they passed and strangled them all with my bare hands. True story that. Of course, I don't really like to talk about it.

I think foxy was referring to 'over' as in the vhf radio terminology. Short for 'over to you'. Is 'fini' the French equivalent for this?

Well I wasn't a member of The Hereford Regiment , but I used to fly them around in 8th Flight (now 658) Army Air Corp (AAC) in the 90's from Credenhill.

I think foxy was referring to 'over' as in the vhf radio terminology. Short for 'over to you'. Is 'fini' the French equivalent for this? The only time you'll here "over" when you listen to the VHF is when a pleasure boater anounces him/herself on this side of the Channel. If they say someting more or less like that (still only the pleasure boaters) they will say when they've finished "A vous". My mooring is about 300m downstream of a lock, and it's rather funny to hear all the stories many of the pleasureboaters are saying through their VHF without the person the want to talk to listening. The normal practice is just to call the lock saying the name of the lock twice, if there's no answer, you repeat that a few minutes later etc, and only when the lockkeeper answers, saying his lockname followed by : "Je vous écoute", it's time to tell them the name of your boat, if you're going up-or downstream, and how far away, or in how many minutes you will arrive at that lock.
