Dogless is our man on the ground at Gregg's.
Poking fun at the god squad isn't enough to get me to swell their coffers though.

Greggs replace Jesus with a sausage roll in Christmas advert:
I wonder if the hilarious boys at Greggs would have the fucking bottle to take the piss out of Islam and replace Muhammad with a bacon sandwich in a Ramadan advert?

Well I guess humour is humour and i did smile though I'm not sure that its right to substitute the baby Jesus with a sausage roll...but then sometimes there is so little humour in this world I qu whether it is wrong?

It's only not funny if you believe in the fairy story of the virgin birth, which of course is a bioogical impossibility. Christianity is simply a religion built on a lie about a knee trembler behind a stable.......

This was the same point made by some senior god squad member who spoke in the news item as he was 'outraged' at what at Greggs had done. Personally I would have found it equally funny because as an atheist I don't believe in god what ever the flavour (pun intended).

I reckon anyone who seems cock sure of their beliefs or non-beliefs are fair game when it comes to piss taking. Isn't it all about ego in the end?

Greggs have nothing to appologise for. It was funny, and much better than the other bollox christmas ads we have to suffer this time of year.
My only complaint was it shouldve been one of their chicken and bacon slices.
As for them doing a Ramadan advert!.....iv'e never ever seen a ramadan advert so why would they.

Just merely pointing out, that the marketing geeks at Greggs wouldn't have the back bone to have a comical pop at Allah. It just goes to show how tolerant we are over here. Was tying a bacon sarnie to a mosque door punishable by a spot of porridge... LINK , or did Abdul not have his laughing head on that day? Mind you, looking at the photo of the six fingered banjo playing redneck, it probably did the whole world a favour.

Absolutely agree, but it's about ego in the end. Common sense and logic get us a long way but many see out their last days without the luxury of either.
