Yes. The comments point this out. I would be interested to know exactly why the white car driver pulled out, but who knows what goes on in a woman's mind? Hmmmph...... dancing on dodgy ice there Mr Fox.... I watched a man...yep the male of the species reverse into a metal barrier today...who knows what goes on in a blokes mind?....wide open space...lots of parking and he reverses straight into metal barrier...and wasn't an ole codger but prob in his 30's...plonker...

I will leave the high tech discussion of pros and cons of this particular idea to the experts... however I can see an advantage in that it would aid the elderly to remain independent longer....or maybe thats a disadvantage as the roads, already congested would become increasingly busy as no-one would quit driving through age and infirmity....

I hope someone intervenes when I get too old to drive. Probably God, although I don't recognise that he exists.

I'm still not convinced they will be fully automatic, if theu have the ability to override it. Then as far as I can see the vehicle will still need a licensed driver in it.
