Gawd knows where the last three and a half years have gone but yesterday was my Grandaughter's first Nativity....her first year in 'proper' nursery. She didn't unfortunately have a starring role but was a 'villager' - hence the costume (I think) Note the dressing gown - I dont think however Disneys' 'Frozen' had been released at the time of his birth but she seemed to carry it off OK. My phone photos came out very poorly but my daughter caught a few.

The sands of time are indeed flying by. Our Little Un's play is next Thursday, she keeps telling us she is a big girl now she is in Pre School 1 She is a similar age to your granddaughter - the Dwarf is an April '14 baby. She has been cast as an Angel, she must have a different side for the Nursery staff!

My youngest when he was 4 was given the role as the King of Siams youngest son in a local production of the King and I in Uppingham Theatre....instead of barefoot he walked across the stage in his Super Ted slippers..It might have passed un noticed but his older brother in the audience ensured everyone realised....real comedy moment. Youngest grand daughter has been an angel in her Nativity at Nursery...however she wanted to be the donkey so they r having to recreate the story at Christmas at her other Grannies and all who will be there have been assigned roles.....apparently I'm being skyped to play the part of.....Mary.....but I'm not allowed the baby doll!

Jan reminded me yesterday of when our youngest (now 32 and who took the photo in the OP) was in her first nativity and similar to Lydia she was cast in a relatively 'low' level' role. However when the time came and we went to see it Claire had been re-cast as the 'Christmas pudding'. When quizzed the reply came back - 'Oh I changed because the Christmas pudding phoned in sick'. (we never did work out what a Christmas pudding was doing at the birth of Jesus but sometimes these things are just best ignored).

Why don't parents do that anymore.

Your granddaughter looks very Finnish. Eyes and forehead. Finnish/Siberian genes in your family? The Vikings did make it to Yorkshire. (she looks just like the girl I call 'Dragon' (real name Matilda) who travels to/from Eskola-Kannus every school day) Interesting, most people say she looks more like her dad than her mam and his family originate in Lancashire AFAIK, but there could be some viking genes there I honestly have no idea.
