I have seen the discussions over there about costs and the need to increase donations.
I just wondered why over there costs so much, and why Thunderboat is apparently free to run.
If Thunderboat isn't free to run, shouldn't we be contributing to delta9's costs?

Cwdf is add free. Not that I see many adds here.
Proboards gets it's income from adverts.
Where their host doesn't. They also pay for extra storage so posters can just upload pictures to the forum.
That in theory means the pictures will stay there.
We have to upload them elsewhere and are at their mercy weather the picture stays or not. If you look at old threads you will note the pictures are gone.
It has it's uses as people will Google stuff and a ten year old thread might have the answers, as long as the photos are still there.
I also believe they paid for their software upgrade.
There may be suggestions that they are not the only reasons that it costs money although they are just unfounded suggestions.

Thanks for that.
The whole forum technology is a thing of mystery and wonder to me.
Glad it doesn't cost delta9 anything.

I think it does cost D9 something, but a small amount that D9 doesn't wish to fund raise for due to the effort involved in raising small amounts of money.

It costs me $14.99 per year, for domain name which isn't really needed. Proboard ads cover the hosting.

I thought there was a small cost but couldent remember what. Thanks delta. Maybe with we have a big thunderboat meet up. We could slip you some cash.

When you look back, it's actually a good name for such a forum. Thundering through a sea of mixed discussions in a boat - sometimes stormy, sometimes calm. and sometimes in circles...........
