Went to Argos to get one last present earlier and there was three people in there. When mum and dad owned a supermarket we used to find that mayhem died by 4pm Christmas Eve and silence settled in the land of consumerism....but don't worry come early Boxing Day following feast of gluttony post good will, the mayhem will resume....So if u feel u have missed out pop out tomorrow.....

Merry Christmas all. Christmas dinner cooking, ready to take to boat to eat in boat and stay for 2 nights. It was a big coop shop for us, turkey breast and trimmings and a vienetta roll £10, what with the 4% dividend saved for a year and the sons coop family discount card, it was a 20% off day, we paid £9 for £120 worth of Xmas goodies. No riot, a better class of customer than Tesco in sowerby. Have a good one.

A trick for next time concert your dividend into saving stamps and every 48 quid you will get another two quid. With discount I stocked up on Taylor's port for 5.60 a bottle and all the kids sticking fillers of course.

Got to boat, had dinner, let it settle, moved boat 2 locks through lock 30. Now having a brew with feet up. Will take it through lock 35 tomorrow, back on the mooring, it hasn't been back there since last Christmas day, been cming between here and Sowerby most of the year, with one longer trip to Marsden on the HNC. If any marauding moomintrolls are delivering calendars on the 27th, I will be at the boat, lock 35 Warland Gate End, or home nearby. Swmbo has a funding grant application to finish before year end, for Skylight Circus, jobs depend on it. Have fun y'all.

The missus had a lovely Xmas experience on Xmas eve. She had been shopping in Marks food section and joined the long but well organised queue for the check-out. After about 15 minutes wait she reached the till and paid, then she decided to browse the household bit on the way out, and picked up a beautiful Xmas display of artificial flowers that was on offer. Eventually she meandered to the exit and was parking the trolley outside when she realised she hadn't paid for the flowers; she was cursing out loud to herself when a smartly dressed bloke came up and asked if there was a problem. She shared her anger at herself with the bloke who then identified himself as a store manager, on his way in to work, and told her that the display was reduced in price anyway, and to take them with his compliments.
Unfortunately my son threw a spanner in the works when he suggested that her actions might have been noted by security, and if she hadn't obviously made a silly mistake, she would have been collared for shoplifting.

The Puzzle Inn is being taken over as a community pub with crowd funding, my mate Mick aka Circus Fudge, resident of sorby yard, is on the committee, there will be good beer if he has owt to do with it. Rancid Chickens, from China? Sounds like a punk band.
