Life is good, we're back boating.
The weather has been kind to us, and despite heavy rain upto noon, we have managed to travel up the locks to Long Itchington this afternoon in the dry.
Two things were very noticeable on the journey
1. We only passed one opposing boat, which is not too surprising, and there were no stolen boats at Bascote either
2 There were very few moored boats, other than on permanent moorings, and winter moorings at Radford. All the sites used in the past as 'winter settlements' were deserted.
I wonder if this is a reflection on the increased costs of boating, people deciding to seek refuge in marinas with all the comforts of home, or as a consequence of the perceived C&RT enforcement upgrade.
I would be interested in views, and observations of how busier/quieter other areas are.

Made it to Braunston and again all the regular mooring sites are empty.
Makes you wonder what's caused the obvious change.
