I always check, then check again after I've been in the weedhatch.
Paid dividends a couple of years ago coming out of Birmingham towards the top of Lapworth.
I'd been down clearing a load of bags near Shirley lift bridge, and as usual checked as I cruised along about twenty minutes later. All was well.
Some time later as I was passing the Cider House pub, I heard a strange clicking noise from under the boards, and on lifting them disovered we were shipping water.
Don't know why the weedhatch hadn't sealed correctly, but it did the second time. Took some mopping out but all was well thereafter, and I've never had that problem again.
But I am a little paranoid now and check several times.
