Some of us talk to others on a regular basis so at least after a while one of us will twig that the other has snuffed it! An ex of mine snuffed it before christmas, only 52 relatively good health until she stopped breathing. Spoke to her partner yesterday they still dont know what did for her! She went in the way I would like to go went to sleep and dint wake up, I would like that as my obituary bit like Spike Milligans I told you I was ill.

Did you wake up today? Wasn't sure. Yes I'm not dead. Perhaps it should be a requirement to check in every morning and if someone doesnt we will know they have carked it?

"So-and-so used to post here a bit, And now he gone and snuff it." That sort of thing? You could perhaps work on refining that statement....

how about I set up a crowd funding campaign and when I decide there is enough (not currently specified ) in my account I will snuffit and you can all share any of the proceeds that I have not expended on 'essential expenses'? .............. no need for a wake or celebration, you can all just go and spend, spend, spend. Just make sure you don’t exceed the IHT limit and end up giving 40% of it to the Gubbermint, that would be a sin that could NEVER be expunged.

We need to set up a boat clearance team, there'll be loads of good pickings. I can always find a home for a spare windlass, etc etc.

What about each writing a will on the forum?
I don't know if it would be legally binding but at least there would some witnesses.
It could be used as a way to reward or punish other members.
For example I will leave my antique windlass and boathook collection to xxxxxx Responsibility for pumping out the shit tank goes to xxxxxx
Something like that ? Possibly ? No?

You just need a reference to your “memorandum of wishes” in your will then you do exactly that: a sheet of paper entitled “Memorandum of Wishes” then you list what you want to give to whom and you executor follows it, simples!!!

I presume that would have to be witnessed and signed too? No, the MoW doesn’t need witnessing. But it must be referred to in your will, along the lines of I instruct my executors to dispose of my chattels as they see fit unless referred to in any MoW I may have made..... That’s the gist, my software puts it into ‘legalese’ for me!

Curious, if not witnessed could be fake, handwritten might help but no guarantee. Room for Dodgy dealings.

When you're dead you really don't care any more about what happens afterwards.
I've made a list of my wishes, and details of bills, bank accounts, e-mail accounts, people to be notified, what I want done with my possessions, etc.
If it is not obeyed, my ghost will appear with red hot mooring pins and people will..... DIE!
