I admit Made in Germany products have been good in the past (any still made there now?), I just don't like Lidl and Aldi having appeared on the streets of Britain, selling stuff 'Produced in the EU' whatever that means. Which country? Why can't we be told, why can't we choose? How about having British shops on the streets of Britain? How about things actually being made in Britain (yes, I know some are, we've had the list - someone makes umbrellas, I remember that). How about Poland getting its act together and producing something other than Sesame Snaps and jars of gherkins? there are people sailing around on narrowboats made in Poland. There's a couple on my mooring, Aqualines. They are generally held in very high regard by their owners, and the electrical wiring is a work of art. Problems include the fact that boats built in the Winter often have very poor paint jobs due to boats being painted in sub-optimal temperatures, and the propellers being of very poor quality and too small for the job- everybody has had a replacement prop fitted very shortly after their first cruise.

So you would hope they are well made.

EDIT- Photos here but you will need the Photobucket repairer to see the pics. www.trucknetuk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=24950&hilit=gdansk

'narrowboat cartoon picture' or something like that from Googley-Woogley. Now I want to shout "Hello Sailor!" next time we chug past quaysider "Hello Sailor!" "Oooh! Cheeky!" I'd be tempted to shout "twat", that's the TB greeting Shirley.
