I am planning to put a 12v fuel pump in on the new yot at the same time as rearranging the pipework to pass BSS requirements. So the question is where does the pump want to go?
The fuel arrangement is tank - RACOR filter which is a little below top of tank - pipe down under boards to pair of spin on filters then up to a priming bulb then to injection pump.
Another thing is am I allowed to do it all with ISO7840 but using stainless pipe clamps or has it got to all be compression fittings ?
Years ago I had to redo some hoses for a bss and I bought iso7840 with hydraulically crimped pipe ends for compression fittings and one of the crimps leaked. Very naff. I'm much rather use pairs of decent hose clips and keep an eye on it all. Seems a better arrangement.

Pipe clamps are OK for BSS, provided thar the pipe has a formed end or hose tail.

On my previous boat the spill rail was plastic and to get my BSC I had to get my local yard to make up a new one. They used rubber pipe and hose clips and it sailed through. Phil

Phil They shouldn't fail it if it's OEM. Ford XLD 1.6/1.8 engines can only have 1/8" bore flexible braided pipes that are unavailable with a 7840 stamp. It would mean repowering to get a different leak off rail. They have back pedaled a bit on leak off requirements, the wording is very woolly now.
