I shall bring a paternity testing kit in case you ARE my long lost daddy!!! I am your biological daddy. I disowned you at birth when I saw your hair colour because I couldn't cope with the shame of having fathered a ginger. You have Ggingger Sperm? OMG!

I'm happy to meet anyone. Just heard a rumour that there is a Summit Boat Festival being organised, for those who have the stamina to get to the top of the hill. Will post more when I get details.

I wonder if the bell ringing chamber in Gargrave church could be a good meeting place? A table with pasties and pies and vol au vent. Sherry at the door? There are toilets downstairs, and the pub is literally next door. As for accommodation, I don't know, but there are loads of B&Bs in that area and the railway station is 10 minutes walk (Leeds - Bingley - Skipton - Settle - Appleby - Carlisle line) (or to Lancaster). That's not a bad idea. Gargrave

Yes, indeed there is! We have walked past it to pick up logs & kindling from the nursery next door. All eyes on Gargrave, then?!

It's fun to put a face to a name, and I hope over time we'll all at least get to say hello in passing. The obvious exceptions are Stabby and the bfg cos they're both twats! Rog Can't think why you have that opinion. 😂😂

For those coming by boat I seem to recall the moorings there can get a bit tight in the busy months (busy being a relative term as we are talking the L&L ) , and there isn't anywhere really close to the Premier Inn/pub where you can easily moor, but all that said it's a really nice spot and the VM's are only a short walk along the tow path. Or a short walk into town for another pub or two ISTR. There was (and possibly still is) a very nice Indian take way in the town within easy walking distance from the moorings.

I can't see anyone being there by boat except us, unless quaysider and dogless happened to make it. As a place it's quite ideal. You can walk along the canal to Skipton or East Marton (and to East Marton along the Pennine Way). Eshton Road caravan & tent/camping site is in the village too.

Eshton Road caravan & tent/camping site is in the village too. If I was coming it would be on my Billy and mean I wouldn't need to be dragging the tin shed, luxurious palace on wheels. but I would stopping in one of the B&B's or the Premier inn. But a lot would depend on timing as we are planning to be out of the country and in France again for much of the summer.

I guess for a lot of us its dependent on dates....my plans are fairly flexible in that I can swap stuff around unless it co-incides with child minding or when I take an elderly crumbly away to give his son respite... For me would be b and b....I don't do sleeping in a tent on stony ground...last years experience cured me of the yen for camping holiday for life .....such a long long night,. The delicate sounds of earthquake proportion snores radiating from other tents just reinforced this not for me...

We'll definitely be visiting Gargrave, one of our favourite moorings.
Just no idea when we'll get there.

I don't mind a bit of plottin' & plannin' but I am also happy for someone else to arrange all this - it could get horribly complicated. We're flexible, so give me a call if you think I can help out. Which way will dogless be going to the L&L? We will pass definitely if via the 'North-West Frontier' (ie. Blackburn & Burnley).
