Thank you very much for that gazza, that really made my day, or better said that it made my night.
I can't receive the UK programms on my TV, and the computer doesn't want me to connect to the BBC either, but with an app on my smartphone (TV Catchup) I saw almost the whole programm apart from about 10mins in the middle when my phone lost it's wifi-signal.
Great to see my beloved VIC 32 participating too, and nice to see that there will be a second steam puffer next year, once the restorating work is finished.
Because of this programm, I've had one of the best sunday nights since ages.
Peter.

My Sunday night viewing comprised 'Columbo'...son staying ATM and following his purchase of the 69 episodes filmed, my evenings comprise all things shabby detective.......he goes soon to train in cold weather survival up top Norway somewhere so I'm being kind

Enjoyed that! Had a brief look for the price of a week on Vic32, not at all obvious on website, must have a thorough look. Trouble is, we are somewhat independent souls, could we face a week in a confined space with other people?

Trouble is, we are somewhat independent souls, could we face a week in a confined space with other people? It's not all that difficult to find out their prices, but what is difficult is finding a free cabin, as there's not much left for 2018 savethepuffer.co.uk/availability/index2018.phpThe prices for 2018 savethepuffer.co.uk/booking-a-cruise/Peter.

Had a great trip on Vic 32 a bit back. A group from Ashby Canal Soc charted the whole boat and we decided where to go with Nicks advice. We even made one of the nuclear subs dip ensign in reply to us doing so. Highly recommended. David

It was rather good - glad you enjoyed it 🚢👍 The bit that got me was when the presenter kept repeating that the puffers could unload their own cargo with the derrick on the deck. It wasn't until the former crew explained and archive film showed how the bucket of the derrick was loaded. Shoveling 80-100 ton of coal by hand doesn't fill me with joy They old boy who said about the number 10 shovel and flattening the 3 ton Bedford truck with 10-12 ton of sand made me smile.

Saying that I enjoyed it is an understatement, as I simply loved watching it, if you wouldn't have been watching it yourself, you most likely could have heard me screaming when my smartphone on which I was watching this programm, lost it's 4G wifi signal for about 10 mins. The crew didn't have an easy life with the loading and unloading of cargo's like coal, as you said filling that bucket wasn't an easy task. I liked old the old guys that used to work these Puffers that were in this programm, all had very interesting tales to tell about their lives. Peter.

Heads up! BBC4 At 9pm this evening 🚢👍🍻 Thanks for posting that, even though I've seen it before I really enjoyed watching it again. It's made me think about having a boat that you could beach like that.
