www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b076vhs7I really enjoy Iolo's programmes, watched this last night, it's an area I love and know well. It's beautifully shot in some stunning locations. There's even a bit on the Mon and Brec Canal. Episode two tonight 👍🍻

it's on the Iplayer if you can get that to work. I miss going to that part of the world, even though we were tearing about on dirt bikes or chasing the WRC you could never ignore the beauty of the place. Ii loved driving in to the Beacons from the east, the Black Mountains almost glowering at you in the distance. The Brecon Muntain Railway looks worth a visit too, I last went with Dad in 2007, they have marched up the mountain a bit since then. bmr.wales/

I've no photos of Wales. But like gazza spent many a night and day in the woods and stunning countryside chasing the rally.
As a scout I've enjoyed amazing views whilst walking and mountaineering in the Brecons and black mountains.
However most of the time you were either in low cloud, thick fog or Heavy rain.
I do have stunning photos of the cullin on Skye. Although the sheep aren't as friendly up there.

I quite often wander up there when I need fresh air and freedom and tide and weather is against my favourite haunt..which is the Worms Head at Rhossili Bay...trouble is its normally raining as its always the second or third choice...so I stick to well hiked paths..one day I will get to roam in the sunshine up there. For down our little corner you cannot beat.....

I love it there but only went in February when the mountains are covered in snow and there is no bugger about. There is something special about that place when your on the ridge all by yourself.
Just to say the missus always had a copy of my route and I always carried flares and a sleeping bag and stuff. Even had spare clothes in me bag.
I carried a stove and everything. Up there if it goes bad people die. So I took a lot of safety steps to help.

This is the cottage we used to rent. In the middle of nowhere with just a pub, a campsite and a youth hostel for company. Although the 70 mile round trip for a take away wasent ideal. That' one end of the ridge which then went away due south. One day I'll go back but in the summer and do some wild camping near one of the summit's.

I was once mugged by one on the summit of Pen Y Fan! it was wise to you and got in the first blow before you had a chance to abuse it. you really need to find a place where the sheep are not already familiar with humans and their strange habits.

The sheep on the Black Mountains are partial to a sherbet lemon.
