More good news. Amazingly we approached Atherstone locks with fingers crossed, hoping there'd be a mooring at the top, as the mud on the town moorings last winter was terrible. Can you believe there wasn't a single boat moored. Never seen it like that, mind you it seems very quiet this year so far. Later we went to look what the town moorings were like, and somebody has been busy putting in a proper surfaced path. They've only done half the length of the pound so far, but it's much, much better. You can moor there and keep clean. Great work, hopefully by C&RT. Rog Here seems as good as any place to put it. We've cruised all week and haven't failed to get in on a visitor mooring. Even though all bar one have reverted to 14 days and the other is winter mooring. We have only passed one other moving boat all week and that was a hire boat. I really don't know where this housing estate is on the K&A as there is not many on the tow path either but back down the flight at devizes tomorrow. Time to go home.

So what's been the highlight of the week, a place or event?
Hope you've enjoyed your trip.

Going up the flight in 4 hours from foxlease to the wharf was good bit then we were the only boat to do the flight. Pulling my first pink jumper off the prop was a highlight. Icy water was blooming cold. My favourite moment was walking with my two kids. 11 And 6 in the cold all the way up to the white horse in the hills. They may take after me yet.

Boat performed well I presume?
Sounds like a fun week.

Proof indeed of dredging work on the Rufford branch this morningπ And an early morning 2 hour cruise back to base, including ice breaking. π
