Emily is his wife, I bought from James they were in my case very low cycles one has done 17 the rest not very much, I paid £2800 for the 8 also have the sofware etc as well. From my point of view they are a bargain as they are light, like solar and will charge with my whispergen. Valence are well respected battery makers in the states so no Chinese problems, the BMS are are an auto item when powered up by 12 volts so balancing isnt a problem, and 5000 cycles will see me into the distant future!! I have told JohnV about them but will try them out before recommendations as they are expensive, He did show me on his puter that they ok and he does seem an ok guy and very much into boats and electricity [his tranny van is electric no tax or congestion charge]

Good luck with those. I bought a LiFePo4 golf cart battery for my electric kayak but it has been very disappointing. I think it depends on the C discharge rate and I probably exceeded that which reduces the capacity of the battery massively. Seems to be even worse than SLA in that respect. I use LiPo remote control car batteries now.

I had a play today connected 2 up in series, powered up the motor, readings before 26.13 volts, i was drawing 105amps for a couple of minutes voltages hardly dropped whilst doing so. Finished the test voltage 26.08, left it for ten minutes with a 180 watt solar panel doing its stuff with an old pwm controller on it, voltage back up to 26.15! These batteries just soak up power so much better than the trojans that they have replaced bliss or what?
