I said they knew how to pronounce it. I didn’t say you did! Anyway, on the towpath it’s normally heard as TellyMatchUs. So you didn’t even get that right! No doubt you went to an improper school. I'll have you know I went to an approved school.

Judging by the pronunciation they wasn’t Greek, they was Welsh!! (Always stress the penultimate syllable in Welsh innit?)

Was there a Witchy and a Foxy in the Iliad? Yes, although needless to say they were using their Greek names of Witchachus and Foxachus.

So not only is there only one correct way of pronouncing your boat's name, there is also only one correct way to mispronounce it. It's no wonder you have a reputation for being argumentative and querulous, is it?

So you mispronounced it in an abnormal way. And it is you who is arguing. There are a large number of ways to mispronounce a name. In the case of your boat there is a whole song about it. You know the one... “you say potato and I say potaato, you say ...” etc

I'm willing to bet 50p that's the first sign of the word 'querulous' on Thunderboat. I did wonder if he actually knew what querulous meant. Not quarrelsome, but petulant and whiny. Probably either fits!

I wouldn't describe somebody as "argumentative and quarrelsome" since both words mean the same thing and this would therefore be a redundancy, the type of grammatical mistake only thickos who don't know how to use apostrophes correctly would make.

So it is your contention that there is no difference between an argument and a quarrel? Clearly you didn’t go to a proper school, or perhaps you did but were expelled for getting up to knife mischief behind the bicycle shed’s?
