Personally, I'm sad for them - especially the staff but I will also miss the handy draws if switches and buttons you can search through to find just what you want... AND be able to finish the project it's needed for THAT day rather than waiting weeks for something to come from Japan or wherever on ebay...
When I was working in IT - on many occasions they saved the day when I was at a clients and needed some piece of kit the likes of pcworld didn't stock. I don't think THEY'VE done anything wrong per-say, just that the world is changing and folk WILL wait a few weeks (most of the time) rather than pay more locally.
Sad but true.

Bloody hippy's, no wonder the world is going to pot. Indeed it would be a terrible world if everyone just lived simple lives rather than being ruled by consumerist "I'm better than the next man (or woman)" bullshit buy more shit or we're all fucked etc etc I realised this many years ago, that you just don't need piles and piles of stuff in your 'nest' and have tried to limit my spending-desires with the thought to damp them with "What will I actually do with this item once I have it? What will I do with it in the future?" Humans have a natural instinct of greed, which is obviously the more we have the better the chance of survival (somehow, somewhere along the line). More food, get fat, survive cold winter. I know the excitement of buying and unwrapping new goods. I had 9 tents (now down to 8, one given away) but the plans on how I would use them have never really come to fruition, apart from my first tent which has seen plenty of action (bought 1979). I have also bought rather too many bicycles from eBay - I have 3 here at home (2 Dawes Galaxies / 1 Swedish Crescent) but the opportunity to ride them is almost non-existent because now we have the boat in England (they were purchased before we knew we'd be getting a boat). But life is short, and I have been trying to unload the excesses and concentrate on the future and go for those things we really want to do before it's too late. Hence the recent clear out of many of my books from our store room where they have just been sat for almost 7 years. There are 18 boxes of them, which will fit into our car, and the idea is to drive them to England June 2019. We could take them to a charity shop, but I would prefer to offer them to a nice Thunderboat boater first to go through, who could perhaps distribute those they didn't want onwards to other Thunderboat boaters. Many good books - but I've seen/read them - and what can I do with them in my grave? My kids don't want them. Boaters come to mind as many seem to be very affable characters. I shall not be leaving them in CRT/marina toilets.

AND be able to finish the project it's needed for THAT day rather than waiting weeks for something to come from China or wherever on ebay... Even the Japs have their stuff made in China these days. They clearly regard the Japanese themselves as being too expensive.

I never really noticed it before but the advertising is very responsive ! A minute ago a big bold advert said BUY NOW -HALFORDS.
Then just now there was an ad for flights to Japan. I guess it checks keywords. I never really noticed it before .
I don't respond to adverts.

Most of the adverts are Proboards themselves advertising themselves. Asking me to create a forum today! ...perhaps they do know something!

Oh - now it's Finnair suggesting I fly with them to Madrid. Hmm... tempting. But I think it's dreary old Manchester next time.

I set one up the other week for NB Ellis...(Guest chat etc)... then decided against it as overkill ... ALL the other adverts I get are for hotels locally (we tend to spend a couple of nights a month at a local hotel to have a bath) or gimp masks... NO idea where they came from!
