Paul I wouldn't take it so seriously. You posted something( it was Emma who called you a fuckwit. When she asked about the thread being removed, delta told her why. I've had stuff removed because of legal issues, at the end of the day delta has to protect himself from any possible legal action. So it's his decision. I understand what you are saying, Kris, and I agree with you. I had no argument with Delta when he removed the thread and apologized to him for posting something that could have been libelous or illegal. Perhaps you missed this comment by Delta: I could care less what Emma says. I think Delta's remark was out of line. In the grand scheme of things, it is of little significance.

I would have been happy to leave the post up, I'd rather not have to remove anything but I have to cover my own ass.
Paul, I probably shouldn't have called you a fuckwit but that wasn't because I disagreed with the content of your post. It was because you actually thought that it was acceptable to post it.
Sometimes it seems like you fuckers are actively trying to get me in trouble.
The only rule you have to follow here is stay within UK law. Please keep in mind that this forum is based in a country that arrests people for telling off colour jokes on twitter. I like this forum and I support free speech but I don't have time to deal with law enforcement and it would cause me trouble with my work so I have to keep shit in check.

I should add that it demonstrates how ridiculous British law is when I can be held responsible for content posted by you lot. In an ideal world I would just add a disclaimer at the top of the page stating that everyone was responsible for their own posts, but that doesn't fly in the UK...

"...probably shouldn't have..." You sound like Donald Trump. If you can't understand how that slur was out of line, it would be a waste of time to try to explain it to you.

You've made a few "slurs" yourself that have been way out of line. We all go off on one once in a while. At least he has come back and stated he maybe shouldn't have.

Well I for one would be interested in what you had to say. All the posts that I have read of yours seem to have been well made and balanced. I can't imagine anything that you write could be offensive to anyone. Thank you for the supportive comment! If I knew how to reclaim the post from cyberspace I would PM it to you, but I think it is gone forever, unless Delta has access to deleted threads. He should have. As I said earlier threads removed by mods. are not usually completely deleted but rather hidden from general view by the plebs. It is normally just a matter of a click or two to 'unhide' a thread or a post if he wished or he will be still able to see it even if we cannot... (or that is how lots of forum software works)

In an ideal world I would just add a disclaimer at the top of the page stating that everyone was responsible for their own posts, but that doesn't fly in the UK... I had previously understood that in English law defamatory comments were the sole responsibility of the author unless a site owner received a request to remove them but refused. There is a good link here that indeed explains that this is not the case and that a site owner can indeed be pursued especially if the author cannot be identified due to them posting anonymously or the site owner/admin. knew about and didn't remove it. (Which D9 has done in this case). Reading that link the forum hosting co. could be pursued too which would only really result in one thing and that is the shutting down of the Forum. www.adlexsolicitors.co.uk/internet-defamation.htm?gclid=Cj0KEQjwv467BRCbkMvs5O3kioUBEiQAGDZHL7Yy4NzD1V8GX-cZI5F1--GuckoL80EBrMB86CffEYwaAuLx8P8HAQ
