21st Feb is quite a long time ago. Depending on stoppages it could be more or less anywhere.
Photo of the cabin top and windows needed.

They'll have to work the locks out for themselves I'm afraid.
I'm at Stone.

If organised they could probably get quite a long way, or have crane and transport set up. Having said that when I located a stolen boat the people on it were busy blacking the whole cabin in an attempt to disguise it. ("Selkie" was stolen from Harefield marina and I saw it in Rickmansworth not in a hurry to go anywhere but the black paint was suspicious and boat roof fittings matched the pictures). So it could come down to someone behaving oddly or it could just be gone. If it is M&N Narrow boats then maybe they had some details which would not be seen on other boats. Things like the end of rubbing strakes or the way handrails are fabricated. And cants. Cants often give away a boat builder.

This boat was for sale at Great Heywood Boat Sales and on Apollo Duck in December 2017 so, as so often happens in the case of "stolen" boats, there is quite possibly a bit of a back story here.

It's amazing how many boats missing out of marinas , I thought one of the reasons people pay for marinas is for security?

It's amazing how many boats missing out of marinas , I thought one of the reasons people pay for marinas is for security? I used to moor at Brinklow Marina, there's very little there in the way of security. There are two harbourmasters, one of whom lives aboard, but there is no office or reception and no CCTV as far as I'm aware. Had that boat recently arrived then it's unlikely that many people would be familiar with the owner and it wouldn't arouse any suspicion that it exited the marina, as many of the other boats do from time to time. The fact that it sold recently, and also that it is a fairly nondescript, low-value boat tends to make me think that the person who removed it has some belief, rightly or wrongly, that he/she has some claim to ownership.

Are marinas responsible in law for some kind of security? I mean, you pay them rent.... Although signs are often put up saying "It is the owner's responsibility" that doesn't mean that it's true.
So... the boat hasn't been found yet?
And we never did hear the end or truth about the boat that was stolen in Summer (around July) 2016, did we? It was found behind a poly-tunnel in a boatyard, as I recall, owners had some dispute with the boat builder... what happened in the end with that one, eh?
With this current 'thieving', has any more come to light? Has the owner been interrogated?

So... the boat hasn't been found yet? It's difficult to see how a marina could prevent this happening, short of having barriers across the canal entrance and having to obtain permission to enter or exit. The gate from the road is locked, with moorers having a key but anyone could hop over it or approach the marina through open countryside. Another problem is that it is a very large marina- more like a car park for boats - and very few boat owners know many other moorers apart from their immediate neighbours. Security is probably better where I am, where we all tend to know each other and strangers would be challenged.

More seriously, spotted this on Carnalworld:
"Went to take a look at progress of repairs etc. No pumps on site at Wardle Lock (circa mid-day) but trickle of water entering the canal further up, possibly run-off from a storm drain. Noticed that two of the stranded boats had suffered broken windows, probably due to vandalism. One had two portholes and a large rectangular window smashed (Casa Dwr, Reg. No. 515773); the other just one porthole (Lakatoi, Reg No. 513537). Speaking to a local out walking his dog he said that it must have occurred overnight. Notified C & RT on their Incident hotline but got put on hold when referred to the local team. I imagine that they are aware already but the owners may not have been notified yet. If anyone knows who they are please relay this information to them."
"CRT have made the broken windows safe."

18hp Kubota is quite a small unit for a 55ft narrow boat. The picture is not very clear but appears to have a slightly unusual exhaust outlet with a little steel rain shield welded over it.
