The country is teetering on the edge of one of it's most important moments in decades with major implications for our national and personal wealth and what do some Brexiteers think is really important......... Where the 'new' passport' is made. As if it wasn't enough that these twits thought we really needed a 'new' passport they are now carping on about where the bloody thing is printed. Egged on of course by the Daily Fail. Dear god. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5533937/Furious-backlash-post-Brexit-passports-overseas.html

I can assure you it is well worth the effort to avoid at all costs, the Daily Mail and the other tabloid journals (I decline to give them the honorific newspaper, which they clearly do not deserve).
I also decline to link to it, thanks.

I think British Passports should be made in Britain. It's confidential info. It provides work for Brits. I find the Daily Mail colourful with the readers' comments often making me laugh. The other 'newspapers' just have the same old blurb, and are quite as capable of telling lies.

How exactly does making them in Britain guarantee the security of them any more than making them in France??? Or the Netherlands??

Why aren't Harry and Meghan's wedding invitations being printed in France, or by the firm who offered to do it for cheapest?

Why aren't Harry and Meghan's wedding invitations being printed in France, or by the firm who offered to do it for cheapest (I assumed the work was put out for tender?) ? I can think of one French manufactured item which I would like to see used by the royal family.

Because the people who make them are closer by and can be nabbed easier if they do anything wrong. And it's all dealt with in the English language. I haven't delved into this, but offer my usual - why not get the Chinese to make British Passports? Gotta be the cheapest option around, an honorable and trustworthy people. OK, so the pages will fall out after 6 months because they used cheap glue. I may have a read later... but then you can never quite believe anything that's reported... as with this latest 'stolen' boat, all shrouded in mystery, lies, half-truths and deceit all round.

It's about time the blood sucking leaches, stood on their on feet rather than draining money from the public purse.

Probably because such items are not currently bound by EU rules about tendering and bog all to do with 'security' this being your initial suggestion. Fair enough when we are actually out we might not have to, but carping about it now is as i said, Brexit Bullshit. There are far more important things to be concerned about other than the colour of our passports or where they are printed.

You'd think they were in the EU by the amount of Chinese crap they've had shipped over here. And all the UK universities are full of fee-paying Chinese.
