Hi all, Thought this might be useful for some. I've just signed up to Virgin Medias truly unlimited package available for existing customers. For £25 a month I'm getting unlimited calls, text and data. Believe it or not there is no fair usage policy... even for tethering. The catch is that you have to have a virgin media broadband contract. This is clearly there way of trying to stop people hammering the system as you would be using the fixed line more often than not. I spoke to them and was open and honest about living on the boat. However because I'm registered on the electoral role, have my bank registered and receive all my post to my parents who have a virgin media account they were happy to sign me up. I presently use a combination of giffgaff £20 sim coupled with an EE 32gb contract at £15 for when I hit the 9gb on giffgaff so will save around £10 per month. Not everyone will be able to sign up due to the limitations but for those that can its a cracker of a deal. www.virginmedia.com/corporate/media-centre/press-releases/virgin-mobile-launches-the-uks-first-truly-unlimited-mobile-plan.html

Are you 100% sure they allow tethering?
I cancelled a contract with them a year or so back because they didn't.
Although they piggy back off EE (who do allow it) I didn't think Virgin did.
ed - oo. It seems it does.
Truly Unlimited is the UK’s only unlimited plan with no tethering, throttling, speed restrictions or caps. Priced at £25 a month Truly Unlimited is cheaper than competing plans, which due to restrictions limit customer’s use and offer less value.

It will be interesting to see how long they can sustain this as the history of unlimited packages is of one that the allowance gets overused (some would argue abused) by some users bringing local cells to their knees and taking capacity from everyone else.
The trick here seems to be that it's confined to existing users of Virgin BB who wont in the main be substituting there home BB with this package because if they cancel their home BB they lose entitlement to this package.
It's ideal for somebody who has Virgin BB at home though and uses a lot of internet whilst away from home (Like a boater or a caravanner!)
