Has anyone done this or are planning to do it this year? If so I have a couple of questions, specifically about going there by boat. Ta!

You'll be able to wear your wide brimmed leather hat there.

If you want to go, you'd better turn round now to get you spot on the 48hr moorings that everyone else camps on. Generally a good weekend for the more mature, but be prepared for a long walk.

Went about 20 years ago, my brother lives not too far away. It was a bloody good do and would love to go again at some point with the wife. Can't give you any pointers re. going by boat as it was way before I discovered boating. It was a very laid back, friendly festivalπ

Going to jump on this thread if you don't mind. I go to quite a few festivals every year and would be great if I could get there by boat, are there any others you can get to or even near ie a cab ride away? Cheers

How about getting in touch with Greg of Forge Farm? You could park your boat there and walk in to Cropredy (or ride your bike in and park it beside the church, if you have a bike, as all good boaters should). Greg used to be on Canalworld - he suggested that CRT sell the trees they cut down as firewood to boaters, and make a small profit on it (something I agree with). Clattercote Wharf was our first parking spot for a few months, and it is a lovely spot. Greg is a very interesting character, too. www.forgefarm.com/

Who wants to stand for 5 hours at a time? They even provide me with a seat in my bus.

It's even a bone of contention at Glastonbury, the locals get free Sunday tickets and plonk themselves down in camping chairs in front of the pyramid stage and pack them in tightly so no one can get past!

No worse than the wassocks who congregate at the front with 20ft flags? When I first went to glastonbury everyone sat down and you could camp in front of the main stage. It's 3 days! Standing up?

Yes that's another problem just so their friends can see them on the telly. I don't go to the pyramid stage that often much prefer the music at west holtz and far less flags!
