Spring has sprung in London and I can finally start repainting inside of my hull.
The rust is treated with Fertan and lose paint scraped off and I'm planning to use zinc-oxide primer and two coats of danboline for finish.
I'm just wondering if it's ok to start painting over the old paint and primer, or if it should be removed/keyed?

Grown ups will be along to answer you soon,
but in the mean time I would suggest it's fine to paint straight onto existing good surfaces, but I would always sand the surface to provide a key.

If the coatings already on are good, just lightly abrade with a scotch pad or wire brush and primer again. Hoover it out and primer, zinc phosphate is a good primer. If damp or cold help to dry out with a fan blowing cool air over the steel.
