One of the negative things we remembered from our trip north 12 years ago, was that the perfect moorings outside Salts Mill cannot be used overnight, which was most annoying. After all boats were mooring there long before the mill buildings were converted to flats. Anyway, rings have now been put in for about a five or six boat length, just beyond the mill buildings (on the Shipley side) and locals told us they are 7 day moorings (no signage but we only stayed one night). Anyone wishing to visit can now stay the night, rather than having to scurry away at closing time, or huddle under the trees on bank pins outside the park. The David Hockney 'Arrival of spring' works are worth making the visit alone Rog

Did you manage to moor near the bank? I’ve heard they are quite shallow moorings.

We parked up on the west side of the bridge no problem. There were a couple of other boats. I think there was an ice-cream boat there too. If there are no signs by the rings put one up yourselves saying 'District Enfarcement - charge to moor here £25 per day' and add your own bank account number

As above ?- we tried pulling in several times but couldnt get anywhere near due to debry in the water... even the other side (opposite the cricket/tennis pitches whilst pretty was a bugger to find a spot where even the gang plank could reach. SuCH a shame as it's a lovely town and I'm sure boaters WOULD spend more of their hard earned money in it if they could tie up more easily for the night. You CAN always go that little bit farther on to Shipley visitor moorings on the right but there is really only space for a couple of boats there.

The level dropped overnight leaving us slightly on a tilt, but no great hardship. Pushed out a foot and we were floating again.
The level was fine when we moored, and of course much easier/better to tie to rings than mess with bank pins.

oh so we're the spelling police this morning are we? - *insert suitable expletive here*.... Well, some of us are highly offended by such things. We don't care about your wayward sexual proclivities, hair colour or your language, just get all your fucking apostrophes correct. OK. Now carry on......

Actually, I'm generally ok with my use of apostrophes ... it's my typing that lets me down.
