they have the army on standby. can't see why they don't just get them in anyway. with so many at this incident I hope they don't have any other big fires.
must be tough on the the fireman with the heatwave and fire & smoke.

Smell of grilled bacon? Myra Hindley's hidden bodies. Welcome to the world of the sick minded and inappropriate. Swmbo and I said the same this morning. A little lad called Kieth never found, although Brady used it as an excuse for a day out or two. But that would have been near one of the roads over the Moor, not where this fire started, in the middle of nowhere. Could have been a glass bottle or a sheep spontaneously combustion with the heat.

View from our window.... In 1983 the Moor to the east of us caught fire, went down into the peat layer, maybe 15ft or so, didn't die out till winter rain soaked it. Littleborough was smoky for months. Could well happen above Saddleworth.

Just come into the city, swmbo has appointment at Salford Royal (nowt to worry about). Stinks of smoke, here's a picture taken in Salford looking into city centre. Latest news, it has gone down into the peat. We'll get the smoke if/when wind swings to the south.

That's a real waste of peat.
