I was always very cautious about the pram when my kids were babies. another danger is at railway stations. Never trust pram brakes always hold the handle. To be fair my pram was £5 in a charity shop. A compact folding aluminium 3 wheeler which I now use for coal, gas, batteries and shit suitcase transport.
I once pulled the neighbour's pram out after it got blown off the pontoon into the cut. Fortunately no child in it.
Nightmare situation and lucky the baby was OK.
Apparently up to a certain age a baby will survive quite a long time underwater because they have not learned the panic reaction which is what causes problems for older people. Or something like that anyway.
