One of these flashed up on my Amazon recommended lists www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007WMHZQ6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1It arrived today so naturally it has been through the workshop on test! It is very accurate (+/- 10ml!) I shall fit it on Friday and see what our daily consumption is - it has a reset-able trip and a total counter - both can be totally erased. It has a male and female 3/4 BSP thread - obviously meant for use with garden hose attachments. I used a BIB tap connector (1/2" hose tail) and a fibre washer for the male end and a 3/4" to 1/2" reducing bush with a 1/2" BSP 1/2" ID hose tail for the female end. Occasionally I shall have to lift the deckboard to look at the display but that presents no real hardship.

There is a thread on the other side describing exactly what you have purchased, you haven't been having a sneaky peek have you?

Wow...That looks like a really useless addition to any boat!👍 I'm intrigued at how much Mrs Gazza gets through - we never pass a tap as they are so few and far between. mouse has a low tech stick that fits down his filler neck. Dipsticks never go wrong or out of calibration as he has reminded me in the past....

No, haven't looked in ages - I had some new hose attachments from amazon as my stockpile is getting low - they must be trying to make me feel guilty about water usage in the current climate

Fitting one to Er next doors hosepipe would be a good plan..her garden pocket hanky sized but it swims for its survival every night..

I made a cordless wireless version that works almost as well, maybe better cos it will never break. I put a push fit T in the pipework between the tank and the pump, clear plastic tube riser from it with a floating foam bobble, tap at the top. Open tap, water levels same as tank. Close tap so pump doesn't suck air in. There's also a pit of coffee percolator mesh in the t at the bottom, so the foam bobble doesn't get sucked away.

It works! Despite Andyberg scepticism it is actually reasonably useful when you only have a 250l tank. Average consumption is about 50l a day, spiked to 90l with four of us showering, still need to fill up whenever I'm near a tap though! Top figure is the instant read out, bottom figure is cumulative consumption. Hit reset and it's back to zero once the tank is filled to the brim.

Interesting Gazza ...... I installed an electronic level gauge to my water tank about 18 months ago (the type that measures the height of the water above it) and I have been rather disappointed with it's performance and in fact at the moment it has ceased to work at all (I haven't investigated the reason yet) that flow meter looks like a possible replacement.
