Thank you for your replies but the mods are still in discussion of whether or not to allow a Chilcott thread.
Per-bloody-thetic
(Yes I know it's Pa not Per but the former doesn't scan well).

Just shows how power-crazed some folk can get, even when given power over such an insignificant thing as a canal forum. The huge mistake Daniel made was appointing women as moderators when he became too lazy to run the forum himself, logic and proportion seem to be beyond the latest batch of menopausal fuckwitts.

I think he's still sulking with his cumsock, after the brexit result 😄😄

I mean, if you ever wanted to advertise that your boat was unattended...

To be honest I don't think the mods are to blame. I think they are waiting for a decision from Dan but these days he is not that interested in the forum. He has moved on. There is no shame in that, we all go through phases of things being very important to us, and then sometime later realising they no longer are. However there is shame in clinging on to a thing that no longer interests, to the detriment of those who are still interested. Its not as if it has significant financial worth. Well presuming there isn't a long term plan to switch to an advertising model.

Well presuming there isn't a long term plan to switch to an advertising model. This is true, he really does need to pass it on to somebody with an interest in it. From the sorry and neglected state of his boat when we saw it last week, he seems to have lost all interest in narrowboating. It's time for him to hand CWDF over to somebody who does still have a spark of enthusiasm.

"Following discussions myself and the site staff have concluded that we do not feel now is the right time to reintroduce poltical debate on the forum and as such we will not be reopenin this thread.
This like others is not an easy call to make, nor one which has been taken lightly, however I hope the majority of the members will understand the reasons political discussion was banned and respect this decision.

No political debate? So what is the Brexit thread all about?
Unbelievable, he's all over the place...lol

I like the "reopenin" - a bit hip, eh? The man has style, you gotta admit! Nah, my dog's got style, he can pee and poo at the same time. Phil

I didn't realize Dan is unemployed, it must be the fault of all the reprobates who post on "his" forum.

I find the whole situation quite funny. A lot of the people complaining that the moderation there is too strict refuse to come here because the moderation is too slack.
They only want to see content and opinions that they approve, spoon fed to them by a team of free workers. Of course they all have differing opinions of what is and isn't acceptable so this isn't achievable. They cried for a forum full of pleasantries, free from contentiousness. They labelled honest dissent as trolling instead of dealing with it. Now they have an overly sterile forum and they don't like it. They now realise how boring it is.
